About Windlesham House School

Windlesham House School

Windlesham House School was established in 1837 and is currently celebrating its 180th anniversary. The school moved to its current location in 1934, and in 1967 became the first, and still remains a top IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) school. We provide children of all academic abilities with an opportunity to reach their personal potential in subjects and activities in which they show promise, from maths and science, languages, the arts and sports. And whilst academic excellence and success are a high priority, we think that it is important to maintain a very caring, family atmosphere at Windlesham through our unique pastoral care.

Windlesham House School has very talented and totally committed staff that make the happiness, security and personal development of each child their priority every term. All the staff at Windlesham put every effort into getting to know each child at the school and we all take enormous pleasure in helping our current pupils to flourish in a nurturing environment. We encourage the children to climb trees and to enjoy their rural surroundings, to succeed academically and to become responsible and thoughtful people so that they leave Windlesham well-rounded and prepared for senior school.

Co-Curricular Programmes

As well as arts, crafts and music, children are encouraged to play multiple sports. A well-rounded sports experience fosters better athleticism and is a great way to teach kids to mix with different social circles as well. Sports tours are a regular feature of the games programme. Windlesham welcomes children from around the world, and in ESOL we aim to improve their English skills. Vibrant and inspiring lessons motivate the children, with activities, games and exercises to reinforce their learning. We make full use of modern technology including ipads to enhance the experience. ESOL is fun!
