Moreton Hall

About Moreton Hall

Moreton Hall is a school which values academic success and extra-curricular achievement equally. It is a nurturing school which encourages girls to have self-belief, confidence and resilience, and to be their authentic selves.

By the age of 16 over 90% of girls at Moreton Hall board full time. 10% of the students come from overseas, creating more diversity and vibrancy in the school, with girls exposed to different cultures and traditions as part of their all-round education at the school.

Moreton Hall was established in 1913 and is proud to be one of the UK’s highest achieving independent schools, educating girls from age 3-18 and boys from 3-11. We also have First Steps Nursery for 1-4 year olds.

They set expectations high academically but are exceptionally supportive of all the girls, reassuring them that their best is always good enough. There is also a great emphasis on the importance of extracurricular activities and supporting each individual’s passions and dreams.

Their aim: to stretch the most able and support the least confident.

Boarding at Moreton Hall

Boarding at Moreton Hall has been described by the girls as being ‘one big family’. Pastoral care is at the heart of everything, provided in each boarding house by House Parents and Assistant House Parents who are on duty 24 hours per day.

Girls are always looked after physically as well as emotionally; there is a health centre on campus with duty nurses available at all times and twice weekly visits by the Doctor.

Moreton Hall are very aware of the importance of input from parents, and will always ensure excellent, frequent communication with them to ensure that their daughters are the happiest they can be. Boarding at Moreton can be full-time or flexible, allowing girls to discover and try out what works best for them.
