About Leighton Park School

Leighton Park School

At its core, a Leighton Park School education focuses on the individual and the promise of choice. Their ethos informs an approach where students are able to follow their most impassioned interests, become active learners and strive to fulfil their potential. Students benefit from an academically rigorous, broad and innovative curriculum. The sciences, mathematics and the creative arts, including music, film production and art, are particular strengths of the school.

This strength in breadth enables a focus on creative problem-solving and interdisciplinary approaches, encouraging students to analyse and put forward solutions to today’s complex challenges, often supported by the school’s impressive partnerships with universities, industry and cultural organisations, such as Cisco and Pinewood Studios.

The success of Leighton Park School’s approach is demonstrated by 94% of their Sixth Formers achieving their first university choice last year. The cross-cutting skills programme positions students for success in a fast-changing world, where many of today’s jobs will not exist in 30 years time. Central to the school’s approach, they teach leadership, creative thinking and risk-taking, empowering students to be a force for good in the world and reflecting the school’s Quaker ethos. In Sixth Form, students can choose between the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) or A-Levels and can opt to do four A-Levels so that their choices are not limited so early in life. Among other accolades, the school is in the top five in the UK for small cohort IB results.

The wrap-around provision, which welcomes day students from 7.15 am to 10.00 pm, offers young people the time to discover and develop their talents. The quiet moments and the calm atmosphere of a 60-acre park, encourage students to collect their thoughts and reflect within a caring community, providing high academic standards, excellent pastoral care and a rich and diverse co-curricular programme of activities. All of this, and the focus on mutual respect, create a stable, unique and sustainable environment where children can live, learn and grow.
