Westonbirt School is an independent inclusive girls’ school for both day pupils and boarders. Westonbirt offers an exceptional education in a wealth of subjects, activities and opportunities for teaching and learning to impact on every level. Passion and commitment fuel teaching and the learning environment is rich and filled with an expectation that each girl will fulfil her potential and beyond. Over 90% of Sixth Form students go on to their first choice universities. Westonbirt aims to ensure that every girl who leaves after Year 13 does so as a confident, well-rounded individual prepared to tackle modern-day life. Westonbirt offers the flexibility of full boarding, flexi-boarding and day school options. Day girls may stay one night a week free of charge, subject to availability.
The school operates a house system, depending on the age of the student. Day girls and boarders all have their own space in their house and every girl is enveloped into the house environment where they learn together how to live and work with each other, the importance of trust and empathy in a caring and supportive environment. Sport, music, art and drama play a pivotal role at the school.
Westonbirt enjoys an enviable reputation for producing highly successful individual and team performances in a variety of sports including lacrosse, netball, swimming, tennis, athletics and cricket. In addition, the school boasts an impressive equestrian team. Girls are regularly selected to play lacrosse for England and Wales. Drama is taught in all years at Westonbirt. There is one main production each year in the summer term and these often sell out quickly. In addition, productions have aired at the Edinburgh Fringe to high acclaim. Over two-thirds of girls play at least one musical instrument.
