Bruton School for Girls are passionate about, and experts in, girls’ education. The school encourages girls to grow intellectually, think independently and become responsible, confident young women.
Bruton School for Girls prides themselves on ensuring that superb pastoral care and core values sit alongside excellent teaching. This offers a well-rounded education in an environment with the space to inspire, challenge, encourage and support every girl to develop her full potential to become the amazing person she can be.
Established in 1900 and set amid the beautiful English countryside in Somerset, the school welcomes girls aged 3 to 18, all the way through Pre-school, Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form, whilst boys are able to stay in the Prep School until they are 7.
Boarding at Bruton School for Girls
The aim is to provide a safe, friendly and fun boarding environment for all students, many of whom are international students, reflecting the qualities of good home life, nurturing the young child and then guiding her through adolescence towards maturity. By fostering self-discipline and offering the opportunity to handle responsibility, Bruton School for Girls promotes social confidence and assurance without arrogance.
Each of the experienced teams of house staff operates under the supervision of the Head of Boarding and provides the care, comfort and support which is so important for the girls’ well-being and success. They ensure that all girls feel that the boarding house is a ‘home away from home’, a relaxing environment with an extended family and friends, many of whom become friends for life.
