About Bedford School

Bedford School is a leading independent boarding and day school for boys aged 7-18 years, located in a beautiful 50-acre estate in the heart of Bedford, a market town less than 40 minutes by train from London and within easy reach of the capital’s airports. From the classroom to the sports field, in laboratories and theatres, on excursions and exchanges, boys are challenged academically, socially and culturally. They benefit from dedicated and highly-qualified staff, and outstanding facilities. Central to life at Bedford School is academic excellence.

Boys are encouraged to aspire to the highest possible standards and exceed their expectations. The school’s success is demonstrated by a long history of impressive exam results at GCSE, A-Level and in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Bedford is also renowned for its strengths in the creative arts, music and sport. Outside the classroom, boys enjoy an outstanding variety of extracurricular activities and societies. For boarders, our six boarding houses offer boys a real ‘home from home’ and all boys enjoy a rich and full social life within a warm and friendly, truly international community.
